Fully-Filled Effects Stem

General Notes and Recommendations

  • The Fully-Filled Effects Stem contains all Backgrounds, Foley, Effects and Fill required to replicate the added and production effects from the original version printmaster, effectively the “E” portion of the Main M&E. Adding music to the Fully-Filled Effects Stem creates the complete Main M&E.
  • A Fully-Filled Effects Stem should be created for each audio configuration mixed.
  • There should be a separate set of Fully-Filled Effects Stems for Theatrical and Nearfield.

Formatting Recommendations

  • It is best to deliver the Fully-Filled Effects Stem on its own, and not with other M&E elements
  • 7.1 and 5.1 Fully-Filled M&E Stems must be individual consolidated channels as Broadcast Wave (.wav) files and in separate workstation sessions. The workstation session may contain a 7.1 or 5.1 session track, or it may contain individual mono tracks. Each track must be named to reflect its audio configuration and channel assignment.
  • The Immersive Fully-Filled M&E Stem should be delivered with any associated objects in its own DAW session.
  • Theatrical and Nearfield Fully-Filled M&E Stems should have the same layout for consistency.
