Dialogue Mix Sessions for Localization
General Notes and Recommendations
- The Dialogue Mix Session contains the panning, reverb and other processing automation used on the OV Dialogue.
- If a Dialogue mix session is created for Localization, it should be archived for future dubbing.
- Usually the Dialogue Mix session is in the highest audio configuration created for the program
- While the Dialogue Mix Session may have been delivered to territory without the OV Dialogue media, it is best to archive it with the OV Dialogueue audio files.
- All volume, pan and other automation should be present in the sessions, including plug-in automation.
- All plug-ins and their versions used should be noted. The plug-ins themselves are not included in the session.
Formatting Recommendations
- It is best to deliver the Dialogue mix session on its own, and not with other sessions.
- If media is present, the 7.1 and 5.1 Dialogue Mix Sessions must be individual consolidated channels as Broadcast Wave (.wav) files and in separate workstation sessions. The workstation session may contain a 7.1 or 5.1 session track, or it may contain individual mono tracks. Each track must be named to reflect its audio configuration and channel assignment.
- The Immersive Dialogue Mix Session should be delivered with any associated objects in its own DAW session.
