Mixer Notes for Localized Mix
General Notes and Recommendations
- The Mixer Notes accompany the Music & Effects package (M&E tracks, optional tracks, guide track) and are used as reference when creating localized mixes.
- The Mixer Notes should outline the use of Dialogue treatments from the OV mix, including reverbs, futzes, and plug-ins with specific parameters.
- The notes should document the timecode range and location of events placed into the optional tracks, typically as an Excel or Word document
- If the movie was mixed in long form, the mixing board settings for Dialogue EQ and any processing should be detailed.
- If any outboard processors are used, it is important to detail the make, model, version and all settings
Formatting Recommendations
- It is best to archive the Mixer Notes in .csv, .rtf, .txt or .pdf
- Specific formats such as MS word or Excel should be converted to one of the above formats prior to archiving.
